Difficult Day for Gresini Moto2 with New Suter

Gino Rea Le Mans 2012
Gresini Moto2 team have to start the development again on Le Mans after the were decided to replace Moriwaki to Suter. Fausto Gresini told that the first day of new bike is always difficult, but he sure that the next day will be better.
Gino Rea
?It has been like a shakedown test for us because everything is new and different for me. We need to work hard to make the suspension work with the new chassis, find the right solution for the tyres but for today we improved from the morning to the afternoon and that’s important. The goal is to continue to do that tomorrow and continue to move forward.?
Ratthapark Wilairot
I’m happy with the chassis and the bike. I have a good feeling with the front and felt confident today. At the moment I am struggling to get on the gas early enough coming out of the corner without running it wide so this is something we need to work on as well as some other small things but overall I am happy with the change and I think we have a lot of potential to improve.”

Champion Stoner: I’m quitting as MotoGP has changed too much

Mika Kallio Estoril 2012
Mika Kallio and Scott Redding head for this weekend’s Grand Prix de France at Le Mans confident of a return to form, after tyre and handling issues saw them finish ninth and eleventh last time out in Estoril.
Chatter issues mid race plagued Kallio, halting his progress through the field from 17th on the grid, while Redding was unable to capitalise on his front row start after using up his tyre chasing down the leading group.
The Marc VDS duo are keen to make amends this weekend and both head to France with confidence restored following a successful two-day test at the Navarra circuit in Northern Spain earlier this week.
Part of the Circuit de la Sarthe, on which the legendary 24 Heures du Mans car race is run each year, the Bugatti circuit is dominated by second gear corners and short straights, demanding a bike that is stable under braking, but with good acceleration out of the low-speed turns.
For the second year running the Elf logo will be prominent on the bikes of Kallio and Redding, which will also run a special red, white and blue colour scheme at Le Mans this weekend. The Elf logo and the one-off livery are part of an agreement that will see the French oil and lubricants giant as the primary sponsor of the Marc VDS Racing Team for five races this season, starting with the French Grand Prix this weekend.
Michael Bartholemy: Team Principal
“We had some issues in Estoril, which is why we decided to test at short notice in Navarra before heading to the French Grand Prix in Le Mans. The weather conditions in Spain couldn’t have been better and both Mika and Scott managed to make improvements to the set-up of their bikes over the two days. Now we head for France, which is an important race for us. For the second year running we welcome Elf as title sponsor for the French Grand Prix, where we’ll run with a very distinctive red, white and blue livery. Elf have been a strong supporter of the team since the start and I hope we can repay their commitment with two good results this weekend at Le Mans.”

Casey Stoner Announces Retirement At End of 2012 Season

In a shock announcement, Casey Stoner has told the pre-event press conference at Le Mans that he has decided to retire at the end of 2012. Citing "disappointment with the direction MotoGP is going," according to MCN's Matt Birt, Stoner told a shocked press conference that he will not be racing in MotoGP beyond 2012. The Repsol Honda rider said the decision had nothing to do with the birth of his daughter, and everything to do with losing his passion for racing.

The announcement comes just two weeks after he denied reports in Spanish magazines that he would be retiring at the end of the season. At Estoril, Stoner said that he had not made any decisions about retiring, and was still in talks about a new one-year contract with HRC. He even rubbished the reports, claiming that people "should not read what you [the Spanish journalist in question - DE] publish." However, sources close to Stoner intimated that he had not made up his mind at all, and that what had troubled him most about the publication was that by being forced to deny it, it would make it difficult for him to make a calm decision on his own. In the end, it appears, Stoner decided that the direction racing was going was not one he was prepared to follow.

More news as it comes in.
